Our story

An energy solutions provider, first.

New Ability Energy designs, supplies, installs and maintains sustainable energy systems across New South Wales. We came up through the electrical trade, and that expertise still underwrites everything we specify. But clients do not come to us for a pair of hands. They come for a system that earns its keep over twenty years, and for one partner accountable for the whole of it.

How an electrical outfit became an energy solutions provider.

01

We started on toolsFounded 10 years ago, as an electrical outfit.

As a working electrical business, we served local businesses and drove our growth from switchboards, sub-mains, commercial fit-outs and plant work across NSW. Unglamorous work, done to a high standard. That built the electrical expertise we stand on today.

That electrical team is still our team today.

02

The mission changed with scaleBigger projects, and a clearer reason to be in them.

As the projects grew to higher profile sites and wider scopes, clients started asking how much energy would cost them over 10 and 20 year terms. Sustainable opportunities arose and we made it our mission to bring them across the state as New Ability Energy in 2022. There began our mission to decarbonise and drive sustainable growth across our local businesses and neighbourhoods.

A fully-integrated energy providerWhole systems, backed by the trade, supplied in-house.

Today we are a fully-integrated energy solutions provider, capable of design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance under one roof, backed by the electrical expertise we have honed over a decade. We have also brought supply in-house via Solar Up, our renewable retail arm, so we can put better goods on your site at better rates, with the same quality standard we have always held.

From supply through to support. We are with you.

Energy systems that pay for themselves, for the communities that need them to.

Three things decide every system we design: what it returns over its life, what it takes out of the grid around it, and whether it still fits the site it was built for. Everything after that is detail.

Our mission

To empower customers with advanced energy solutions, fostering a greener tomorrow.

Our vision

A future where sustainable energy is the norm, driving global change and innovation.

What we value.

These are the four calls that get made on site every week, and how we make them.

01

Best-in-class engineering

The compliant way and the quick way are not always the same way. Where they differ, the standard and the drawing win, and we say so at quote stage rather than on handover.

02

Full-site thinking

The board, the plant and the roof are one system. We measure the load before we size anything, which occasionally means telling a client their battery does not earn its keep yet.

03

Sustainable

We are here to take carbon out of the sites we work on, permanently. That governs what we specify, what we decline to specify, and when the better answer is a smaller system.

04

Leave places better

Sites handed back clean, labelled and documented, so the next electrician can read what we did without lifting a lid to find out.
