LED & Energy Efficiency

LED upgrades surveyed against the standard after dark, so the saving is a measurement rather than a claim from a catalogue.

The problem

Lighting is the easiest load to remove from a site, and the one most often left in place because nobody has counted what it costs to run.

LED upgrades, emergency lighting and rewiring for warehouses and offices, done to code. Lighting is usually the simplest load to remove from a site and the easiest to measure afterwards, which is why it often goes first.

What the scope covers.

01

LED upgrades to code

Fittings are chosen to reach the lighting levels the standard sets for each area, then measured after dark.

02

Emergency and exit lighting

Emergency and exit lighting installed, tested and logged, so every periodic test has a record.

03

Warehouse, office and outdoor sports

High-bay warehouses, open-plan offices and floodlit courts, each lit to its own standard.

04

Rewiring and circuit work

Old circuits rewired and switching zoned, so lights run where people are, not across the whole floor.

What it usually looks like

Typical range on a commercial site.

Indicative ranges. The after-dark survey sets your figures.

Typical range on a commercial site

50 – 70% Energy saving against metal halide
2 – 4yrs Simple payback
5yrs Typical fitting warranty
1 After-dark survey to the standard

Indicative ranges for scoping only, not measurements from a specific job.

How it runs, start to finish.

01

Survey after dark

Existing light levels are measured at night, when the lighting is doing the work.

02

Specify to the standard

Fittings are chosen to reach the required levels with the fewest watts.

03

Swap and rewire

Old fittings come out, circuits and controls are updated, and emergency lighting is brought to code.

04

Measure again

Levels are measured after the install, so the saving and the compliance are both on record.

Why one contractor holds the whole scope

Before you ask us.

How much does an LED upgrade save?

The typical range against metal halide is shown above. On your site it is measured before and after, so the saving is a figure, not a catalogue claim.

Do you test emergency and exit lighting?

Yes. We install, test and log emergency and exit lighting to the standard, and can take on the periodic testing.

Can you light outdoor sports courts?

Yes. Tennis and futsal courts are lit to their own standard, and the levels are measured on the court after dark.

Tell us how the site is lit today.

An after-dark survey shows what the lighting costs to run, and what it should.
