HVAC and water pumps

Plant load measured before anything is sized, and run off site generation wherever it earns its keep.

Residential quote Commercial quote 1300 152 966

A bank of large air conditioning condenser units and heat pumps in galvanised housings on a flat commercial rooftop.
The problem

Plant is a large share of most commercial load, and it is usually sized and installed without anyone measuring what it actually draws.

Electrical works for heating, cooling and pump plant across the site. Plant is a large share of most commercial load, which is why it is measured before anything is sized, and why it is often the first thing that should run off the array.

What the scope covers.

01

Split systems and heat pumps

Supply, circuits and protection for split systems and heat pumps, installed alongside the rest of the electrical work.

02

Pump sets and plant supply

Dedicated supplies and controls for pump sets, sized to the motor and its starting load.

03

Plant load measured before sizing

What the plant actually draws is measured before a replacement or a new supply is sized.

04

Run off site generation where it earns its keep

Plant that runs in daylight is scheduled onto the solar output, where the saving justifies the controls.

What it usually looks like

Typical range on a commercial site.

Indicative ranges. Measurement on your own plant replaces them.

Typical range on a commercial site

30 – 50% Share of site load that is plant
15 – 35% Efficiency gain on old plant
3 – 6yrs Simple payback
10 – 15yrs Service life

Indicative ranges for scoping only, not measurements from a specific job.

How it runs, start to finish.

01

Measure the plant

The actual draw of heating, cooling and pumps is measured, not read off the nameplate.

02

Size the supply

Circuits, protection and controls are sized to that measurement and to the starting loads.

03

Install alongside

The electrical work is done by the contractor already on site, under one contract.

04

Shift the load

Where there is solar on site, daytime plant is scheduled to run from it.

Why one contractor holds the whole scope

Before you ask us.

Do you install split systems and heat pumps?

Yes, alongside the electrical work, with the supply and protection each unit needs.

Why measure plant before replacing it?

Nameplate ratings rarely match what plant actually draws. Measuring first avoids oversizing the new unit and its supply.

Can pumps and air conditioning run on solar?

Where they run in daylight, yes. Scheduling them onto the array's output uses more of the solar on site instead of exporting it.

Tell us what plant the site runs.

A walk through the plant room and your interval data are enough to start.
